When one uses gallery to load an image for a 3rd party app.. it would be nice if i didnt have to hit the radio button in top corner before i can accept it as the image i want to load…

I would love to see more views option in gallery. Default gallery view is very nice and clean.
We generally remember dates of important events like birthday, anniversary or a date a particular place is visited. So if we can have such a view where we can dig in to reach a particular date it will be nice. First year wise - select a year, it will show the months - select a month, it will show the weeks - select a week, date wise view. This will be an extra view option apart from the default weekly view. I think most of the users will appreciate such a functionality.

pajji replied at 2016-07-13 10:49 Thank you. I tried it and the "month" display feature is there. We now only need the "year" for people who have a lot of photos.

Something really huge in terms of searching is what Google Photos offers now, where we can search our photos using theme, location etc. I suppose this is a server-side feature but if anything can be added to Gallery app for local/ offline use to our device photos, it would be great!

The main improvements should be in the integration with Android code.
- Smart Lock (is present, but you can't access to settings) - More material design and less iOs transparency, please!

Nice initiative

Here is a late suggestion.. Reduce the quality of the thumbnails so that thumbnails load faster. I have a lot of photos, and I'm always waiting for the gallery to load thumbnails.

Would be nice to have an extra zoom level to see the thumbnails a bit bigger.
