1) Playstation VU arrives on Android TV


Sony is expanding its streaming service, PlayStation Vue, to owners of Android TV devices. The company also announced the service would be coming to PC and Mac users in the near future.

2) Google Home App


The Google Cast app has been rebranded as Google Home. The update includes a new icon, as well as a few design tweaks to create a new experience for those who purchase Google Home.

3) Google VR Startup


It has been announced that Google has purchased Eyefluence, a company that has been working on eye-tracking technology for the last 3.5 years. There is speculation that Google will be using this technology in an upcoming, unannounced, Virtual Reality headset.

4) Qualcomm Has Bought NXP Semiconductors In A $47B Deal



Qualcomm has acquired NXP Semiconductors, one of the largest producers of chips that are currently in use in vehicles across the globe. The massive deal is worth $47 billion and will likely fuel Qualcomm’s growth into the smart automotive industry.

5) Google Photo Albums

The latest update to the Google Photos app now lets you search photo albums, versus just photos themselves. The update was rolled out in stages and is a server-side switch.

6) You will soon be able to use Paypal while chatting on FB Messenger

A new partnership between Facebook and PayPal will allow users to send and receive payments, as well as view receipts from the Facebook Messenger application.

7) Facebook Teens Only Lifestage App Now On Android


Facebook’s video profile app designed for teens called Lifestage is now available on Android after launching on iOS back in August. No Facebook account is needed to sign up, but it’s designed for people 21 and younger.

9)Google Seems To Be Slowly Rolling Out Allo Version 2.0


Google is slowly rolling out version 2.0 of Allo, but there aren’t any major changes other than the inclusion of a monochrome theme and a new splash screen.

10) Facebook Takes On Snapchat With Disappearing Messages.


Facebook borrowed Snapchat’s Stories feature for Instagram Stories and now it’s testing a new camera app that allows you to take selfies and videos with filters and effects built in. You an then share these videos and pictures with friends on your news feed. Don’t get any replies within 24 hours? The story disappears. Sound familiar? That’s because it’s basically Snapchat.
