Android N Might Introduce New System Updating ImageWhile there was a number of announcements which emerged from Google I/O 2016, Google also took the opportunity to announce and release the next developer preview of Android N. For those keeping count, this is the third developer preview and as you might expect, changes were aplenty. In spite of being announced and released two days ago, there are still a number of hidden changes that are still coming to light. For instance, earlier today saw reports confirming a change in the way in which the Android System icon now looks with Android N. This was of particular interest as the older look is one which has been with Android for quite some time.
Another design element which has ‘been with Android’ for as long as most can remember, is the Android ‘installing system update’ image. Most will know this as the little green Android which has its chest open and its internals being tinkered with. A sign that it is being upgraded. While that does still seem to be the case, with those who have updated to the latest developer preview likely to have seen the same traditional image when updating, it seems deeper within Android N, preparations are in place to change this. The new look is one which is probably a lot more generic but is also probably a lot more modernized. According to Android Police, it is simply a turning white circle. The “installing system update” is still present, but other than that, the new look is a far-removed look from the older style. Which to some will probably be a welcomed change, while to others, this will feel much more generic. Either way, according to the information coming through, this is not a change which is officially active within the third developer preview of Android N and instead can only be currently accessed through the recovery mode. Whether this will make it into the final release is yet to be seen, but the indications are there that it could be introduced at a later time.
