ThalesF3232 replied at 2018-07-16 03:00 This didn't work for me. Seems like it's extremely random for everyone and there isn't one solution and combination that works for everybody. Seems like all we can do is just wait until Meizu stop fu**ing around and actually look for a fix...

How to get everything working again: Chinese installer: https://itechify.com/2016/11/10/download-google-installer-apk-chinese-phones/ (uninstall all google apps before you run this, otherwise it'll get stuck in either 4% or 5%) Correct Goole Play Services that actually work: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-12-6-88-release/google-play-services-12-6-88-020406-197970725-android-apk-download/download/ Keep this file above Install the Gapps from the chinese installer, log in normally. Play store will run itself updates and get back to the white screen where nothing works, then you'll install the google play services mentioned above and immediately download your apps/update whatever you need to,otherwise Play Store itself will auto install the play services that doesn't work. Once you downloaded everything you need, and leave your phone idle, play store will update the play services. What are you gonna do? Go on your "Security" icon > Data > deny play store from using WLAN,Mobile Data and background data. Install the Play Services 12.6.88 again. Reboot your phone. Everything will work again. If updates are necessary, allow Play Store to use Internet again, obviously when it gets time it'll automatically update play services, once you finish updating your apps, deny internet to Play Store again, and reinstall the Play Services 12.6.88...job done. The only way that android has it's system to update apps is from Play Store, denying internet to it will lead you not to let the Play Services to be updated as intended, install the version that actually works. Problem is resolved. I did test and after 2 minutes idle i already had the unfunctional version. Once i finished installing everything i wanted,i denied internet to play store,so it wouldn't install the bad version, installed the version that works. Restarted phone and to me everything works. Tested YouTube,Maps,Uber,Drive,Docs.. This is a workaround, not a permanent fix.

I will never purchase Meizu again. All my Google apps are not working all of a sudden. They need to provide some solution to this.

Same problem on Chinese firmware A (Android 7.0, 7.8.6.25 beta), M3 Note. Lag, overheating, battery drains really fast, contacts sync stopped working. It seems like it tries to sync constantly but fails, can't get a response from the server or something, hence the CPU usage is nuts and the battery drains like crazy. Certifying my phone manually through this https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/ didn't help. Downgrading Google services version is obviously not a solution because it pretty much renders all google apps useless, they won't work with outdated services.
It seems that problem reports come from both certified and uncertified devices users, from Meizu, Xiaomi, Huawei etc, interesting. The possible explanation - Google tried to crack down on uncertified devices and screwed something up big time.

Better come up with a permanent solution by the manufacturer rather than by anyoneelse for all meizu devices
