On the front....embedded into physical button...no need to explain it

Always front..

Front is better than back in my opinion.
But the best place to have a FP reader is on the side. I had the occasion to try a Z5C and this is really the best place ;-)

Fingerprint scanner at the front would be better. Integrating it with the mback button would be an added advantage as all the features would be available in just one button.

Front :) Much easier to use.

Both sides have positive and negative characteristics, the front part is good but could not cut the edges of the display closer to the bottom edging due mBack of the phone - it's a negative on the front. Therefore a new decision to set Fingerprint Cards announces biometric sensor on the screen to display, would be made (~ 85% + screen-to-body ratio) and smaller corners between the the display and the body - in simple words, a larger area of the screen ratio body.

Of course, by the front page of the phone.

Front: Hard to double-click mBack button on lock screen to access music; scanner attempts to scan your fingerprint and either unlocks the device or goes to passcode if it's a mismatch. Device cannot be woken up with mBack button to quickly access camera from lock screen, because it attempts to unlock device. Convenient usage; you press the button many times without problems, same goes for scanner. Back: While attempting to scan your fingerprint, you may place it over camera, making it dirty. You have to get used to hold the phone correctly to be able to scan it.
