M3s Flyme 6.2.0.0G WiFi SlowHi there all,My Meizu M3s with Flyme 6.2.0.0G (Android 5.1 security patch April 5 2017) WiFi connection is very slow in retrieving data from the internet. I think this started happening only a couple of weeks ago.
Connects to my WiFi fine and shows that it is connected with all bars. Compared to my other phone it is a snail. It won't even complete the speed test! All updates are done on Auto and there are hardly any Apps on it. I seem to be able to receive texts and emails etc. fine. Any ideas or known bugs about this? Thanks. | |
I have noticed that the 6.2.0.0G is listed in the App Store (on and for the phone) for updating (set to auto) but running the check for updates says it is already on the latest.
I have a suspicion the last update did not install correctly. | |

upgrage to flyme 6.3.0.0g it is a better flyme than your current.

Pl0gue replied at 2018-05-26 02:46 Thanks PI0gue. I have done the update now to 6.3.0.0G. I think they should have explained it wouldn't be pushed out by OTA on the front page! It took a quite a lot of searching to find this out. I wanted to go the OTA way so as to make sure it was ready for my model. As you might guessed I am new to this forum\site and only came in after issues arised. The update went fine but alas it did NOT cure the connection to the WiFi. So basically tested against my Sony Xperia with third party speed test App (the built in Speed Test will not yield any results - it looks like it is running but nothing actually gets down/uploaded and above status goes from Detected to Detecting etc. whilst on main status home screen still shows connected) with results as follows: Sony connected and completed test fine. Meizu eventually connected and completed tests which were actually faster - might be expected since Sony is 2011 model. Conclusion: it is the time it takes to connect to the Router that is the problem. Checked all Router and phone settings again. All matched and same as Sony. Don't really know where to go from here. | |

Hey, no WIFI issues have been reported for 6.2G and 6.3G on the Meizu m3s. Please reflash 6.3G on your phone again with clear data ticked. If the problem still exists then you might want to check your router configuration.

FOUND THE SOLUTION.
I made a list of all my devices MAC and current IP addresses (IP's are handled by Router DHCP function). I use MAC filtering on Router (my Router does not supply a device name with the MAC address listed which is just silly and a pain in the butt). I Logged into Router and checked MAC addresses listed against my list. Deleted old entries. Rebooted the Router. This gave me a new IP address for the M3s and then everything started working fine. NOTE: this does not explain why I had the problem as there was no report of conflicts of IP addresses and MAC addresses were correct. I had done multiple Router reboots in the past with no difference and there was plenty of addresses free for the router to supply. All I can say is this worked. Worth a try if anyone else has had the problem! | |

Hi, I am back again.
This only lasted 'as a solution' for a day or two. The problem is still with the phone. Just connects so slow compared to any other equipment using the router. Can't run the speed test etc. as before. Why haven't I updated this sooner?... Well it is my partners phone and I just got discouraged and couldn't be bothered. It is not my nature to give up but this is a doozy. | |
