Google has recently published Android Security 2015 Annual Report. Google seriousness on security was evident when they announced that they have reduced Potentially Harmful Apps (PHA) by nearly half in 2014 and will continue in 2015. The company now scans around 400 million devices and 6 billion installed apps each day.

According to Google, only 0.15% of devices that install apps from Google Play Store only had had infected by PHA, whereas 0.5% of devices that install apps from both Google Play and third party sources had been infected by PHA. To take it a step forward, Goggle introduced  new security protection, including full disk encryption, updated permission controls and verified boot in Marshmallow.

In  August, 2015 Google launched security update program, aiming at  provideing monthly patches to fix vulnerabilities. Google is committed to keeping Android devices safe and looks forward to engaging with the ecosystem to keep it going through 2016 and beyond.
