[Confirmed] Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition launches globally Edited by Abaggie at 2016-02-17 21:33
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu, jointly with Canonical, announces the global launch of the Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition. This is the fifth Ubuntu device launched by Canonical and its partners in the last twelve months and the most sophisticated and feature-rich Ubuntu phone in the market. The Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition will be available for pre-order during MWC on Meizu’s website (price and details to follow). The Meizu PRO 5 will be on show at Mobile World Congress 2016 More on: https://insights.ubuntu.com/2016 ... n-launches-globally Unfortutantely, it seems like it won't support Convergence. Anyway, let's hope they'll bring Ubuntu to more models.

ultrametric replied at 2016-02-17 21:31 No, probably not. I'm not planning to spend a large amount of money on Meizu anytime soon. Besides, it's less interesting if it turns out to lack Convergence support. I do hope Meizu will release a flashable Ubuntu rom for the MX5.

ark45 replied at 2016-02-17 23:16 This will be announced during MWC, starting Feb 22, 2016. Based on the MX4 Ubuntu edition (299€) I would say somewhere in the region of 450-500€
