Upgrade Firmware Meizu M3sI just got my Meizu M3s (from US stock), and I noticed that the firmware is a few versions old.
I currently have 5.1.5.2A but want to see if I can install 5.1.12.0G. I have downloaded the firmware file from the official flymeos site and transferred to my phone, but it does not recognize it, perhaps because one is the CN/US version and the new one is the Global version. Can someone help me on upgrading? Is it adviseable to upgrade from A to G? If not, can I get the latest A version somewhere? What are the steps for upgrading? Will I lose all my data/se

if the phone is a version you can have some problems to update with the g version. if your phone is g version download the g version from the site and open the file with the file Manager. if you want to use the Flyme a version download it from the Flyme.cn site or find it on the forum.

vinnybear create on 2017-01-14 12:25 you can make a backup with the backup app that are included with the Flyme or can use one of your choice.

Fastbyte01 replied at 2017-01-14 17:01 Okay thanks. I have downloaded the firmware file and it is saved on my phone "update.zip". I am unable to process the update though. How do I proceed? Thanks!

open the file update.zip with the file Manager. and when prompted select to erase data.

Fastbyte01 replied at 2017-01-14 20:49 does it matter where the file is stored? i locate the file with File Manager and tap it, and I am just prompted to: open it with ES Zip Viewer, Extract, or View. Those are my only options. It has a zip icon and not an update flyme icon. I'm not sure what I may be doing wrong, but thanks for your help.
