WhatsApp notification is powered by google play service? Edited by User459460276 at 2017-01-04 04:24
Whatsapp notification is powered by google play service? I'm running fly me 5.1.11.0G. I have an extra sim with this phone for international data Roaming, I use it only for WhatsApp. So i want to avoid any unnecessary data. For power management, all google related apps and WhatsApp are kept during standby. And for data settings, I disabled network data access for all apps except for WhatsApp. Now My question is do I still have to give network data access to google play service in order to get WhatsApp notification? Or it is irrelevant? I'm very paranoid, and I have tested many times ( either grant data access to google play service or not, and send messages to this phone in different time intervals). I can not explain. without granting data access to google play service (above photo): so I sent a bunch of messages to this m2. My phone was in standby mode and I never read those messages, but the last message was not delivered. And other times with google play service enabled, I was also experiencing notification delay/failure. How to fix this issue? | |

To be true I have no idea. I don't think that push notifications are related to google play services, as you can install whatsapp without google play.
