The Meizu Band is priced competitively at CNY 229 (roughly Rs. 2,300), and is up for pre-order immediately. The fitness band will hit shelves on December 8 in the country. The Meizu Band looks similar to Xiaomi's Mi Band 2 and sports an OLED display that shows the time, notifications, and incoming call alerts. It pairs with the phone via Bluetooth, and does pretty much all the functions that is expected from a fitness band currently. It counts the number of steps you've walked, the amount calories you've burned, and even has a heart sensor to track your heart rate during activity. It has IP67 ratings for water and dust and resistance as well. The company says the Meizu Band notifies you when there are incoming calls and texts on the paired smartphone. It even reminds you to get active if you remain immobile over a period of time. If the Meizu Band is connected via Bluetooth, it even helps you to find the smartphone in case it gets misplaced. The device pairs with the company's health app to see complete data and assess it over time, and even allows you to see your friends' activity, like it, or compete against them. For now, the Meizu Band will only be available in China, and there's no clarity if it will ever make its way to the international markets. | |
