Yes your right battery calibration can be fixed (At least in my case) by flashing the update once again with clean wipe but the optimisation and battery issues cannot be fixed without an update

Have you tried a battery calibration? If not then try it. It may work. Drain your battery completely until your phone automatically switches off. Then charge your phone (in switched off mode) to 100% without any interruption. Check if battery is working fine. If not repeat the process once again.
