Common Misconception's About Flyme Edited by subhashvarma at 2016-08-04 11:10
Let Us know The most common Misconception's about Flyme from Noobs and reviewer's 1) Flyme is Just a Themed or Customized Version of Android No Its not.flyme is based (Not completely) on Android But the OS is not Just a cosmetic implimentation of android, Theres lot more behind the scenes in terms of Memory management ,Energy saving and stability. Flyme was one of the first to integrate a flat UI 2) Flyme is buggy Show me a Mobile OS that is completely bugless ? Android Vannila,CyanogenMod,Oxygen OS,MIUI,EMUI ect they all have bugs & they get fixed,The same Applies to flyme Flyme is Getting stable and There is a notable Increase in overall performance with its frequent update's,while other OS like MIUI and EMUI push Updates they mostly are cosmetic or UI based changes and mostly come with minor bug fixes. 3) Flyme is Hard to get used to In some reviews I have seen reviewer's,User's and Editor's describing flyme OS is difficult to be used but in reality its not true, Flyme is very user friendly and within no time you will get used to. It Looks better than Stock Android and has more Accessibility Features to make make things easy. 4) Flyme is chinese Flyme was born in china. But its Presence is Global Flyme's Firmware is not Only based on chinese but also has firmware (IN) for India and (G) Global firmware so you can enjoy flyme in many Different languages. Technically speaking all the versions are the same but you dont find chinese bloatware in Indian and global versions these come with google apps and services pre installed and there are slight language translation improvements. 5) Flyme is not secure Flyme has many features to keep you safe Flyme Has a very good built in Security Scanner and also any newly found vulnerabilities gets fixed with the updates in future flyme integrates Android security Patches, Thus providing reliable security. 6) Flyme isnt always based on latest Android version This is beacuse flyme concentrates more on stabilizing the existing version on which it is currently based on.So if flyme gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow it makes sure android 5.0 (lollipop) is very stable Flyme UI is bundled with features, which is more important than looking at the version of Android that the device is running So flyme is for sure slow in updating to major android version "Just to make the present version better"

jmm4515 replied at 2016-08-06 11:31 Sorry, but we may have misunderstood each other ... Or at least you did me. I didn't say iOS is idk how buggy, but it has bugs. Some very weird one might not even notice, but I did. Some that lower user experience. Also, I remember having many problems with WiFi (that counts to stability), which I don't experience with Flyme. Meanwhile, which version of Flyme are you referring to? It might be possible that G and Y versions are different stable, so that might be the reason for different points of view? Why shouldn't I compare iOS and Flyme? I mean, Flyme maintains the simplicity while adding features that aren't present on iOS.

Each of the six points are appropriate. Flyme OS is great! Smoothens some of the rough edges of Android.

UltraResponseToZznidar replied at 2016-07-15 16:54 I'm not sure how you got the idea of my internet security knowledge. Please, explain. I didn't state it is secure, everything-proof, not vulnerable etc., I just said I haven't found a vulnerability. And as of frequent Flyme updates (it looks like 1 per month), if there was a vulnerability found and reported, I'm sure you'd get a fix soon. P. S.: It seems like sometimes it's worth creating an account to enter a debate.

Another one of those good reads. I'll be showing these to my friends and to other android/ios users who doubt Flyme OS.

Actually Flyme OS is not fully based on Android, they just integrate some of the Google services in order to work on their OS which is finance by Alibaba called YunOS. Flyme OS does not trully follow the whole ecosystem of Android. Based on your so called "thread" you are just new to Flyme. Just because someone does not agree to your perception it does not mean they hate Flyme. The haters or noob as you call it just wanted to have the Flyme team to fix all reported issues with the firmware versions they are releasing. I wrote a post on the BUG section that all the issues from the previous version are still present meaning it was not addressed properly on the new firmware.
@UltraResponseToZznidar aka Ultrametric is right All FlymeOS are based on just ONE version which is the Chinese version of Flyme (why because we already tried how to make a Global version to a Chinese version in order for some of the features on the Flyme apps to work that is intended for Chinese market only). We don't care who ever implement the first "flat UI" what we as a user of Meizu device is to address the issues that have been reported already even before the Flyme 5 was ever release. If Flyme really wants it's firmware to be secure, then it should always provide OTA updates for any security patches that Google release for Android 5.1.1 based firmware. This what makes the difference, as Google is keen in providing security updates to their firmware unlike Flyme you have to wait for months before getting the any as they try to release it as a whole package which is kinda annoying.
