Yes i recommend to everybody. I love my phone. After using many phones. This  is the phone quite satisfies me in every aspect. Ah! Well my phone is m2 note.

I totally agree with you

I gave it an 8 as most of the friends are very incline in modding their mobile devices but they are still curious on the Meizu that I have. I let them use it just to get a feel of Flyme and they are quiet impress. However, as most of them would still like stock android and get the latest versions. Though they like the way how it can be rooted that easy.

My honest opinion to follow in the hopes Meizu will listen.
I would give Meizu phones a 6 out 10.
Although I really like my Meizu phone I am not sure if I would buy one again in near future because of the following reasons. Not because Meizu makes bad phones but because a few concerns make a huge difference in a very competitive market.
(But lets begin with the good first)

The Good
-Good quality hardware and software (Like the use of Asahi Dragontrail glass)
-An active development team
-Management that seem involved with its user base and care about their opinion (take this thread for example)
-Nice looking website and forums (some phone manufacturers don't even have websites or ROM listings)

The Bad

Flyme updates lag
Flyme is not a bad Android version but updates lag. Lets discuss the update situation. Although we would love to have the newest shiniest version of Android with new APK's, battery life improvement, UI polish and other features we can probably compromise and wait for that. What we can't really wait months and months for is security updates. I think Meizu and most phone manufacturers should realize, pure Android is good enough and while I don't want Flyme to go away I would love Meizu to provide an Android One version of its phones or at least work with Cyanogenmod to provide us with the latest ROMS. Android users are not ignorant, we follow the latest Android releases and anticipate them eagerly. This fact influence buying behavior. I can understand with Chinese regulation Meizu might not be able to provide an Android One phone for its local market but the overseas market would absolutely love that.

Hand me down ability.
Unlike many Xiaomi phones Meizu has no user replaceable battery option. When my battery dies this phone dies and I can't give it to a family member or sell it with a good conscious. Google's project ARA is going win hearts and minds of people that have to throw their phone away just because one part dies.
