Sounds like a amazing trip.  Glad you loved it.  Ja, Johannesburg is not a place for a tourist.  It is the business and economic hub of Africa, but really not a nice city for a tourist in my opinion.  You went to the nice places and the wine route is really beautiful.  Up the west coast is also great, but very different scenary.  More arid, but beautiful in its own way.

Yes, South Africa was a massive market for Blackberry.  And not too long ago we were still one of the hold out markets for them where they were doing OK when all others left them for Android.  Now it is different.  I actually work for Vodacom, one of our mobile networks here.  We seldom sell blackerry handsets now in the branches that I am involved in.  We dont stock Meizu on the networks unfortunately.  But Orange have launched a online store and recently started selling the international version of the M2 Note.  Only that model.  Hope they expand to other models also.  With the Rand losing so much strength, people are going to become very price sensitive to imported products like cell phones, but Meizu gives you great specs for a decent price.  Even if you convert it into Rand.
