for a long time , saying that it would be updated in March , then in April , is now in May for the MX4 , I think , that in May, will not be an update , a good device support , you go in the footsteps of Apple , but it is impossible , my friend iphone 4s and updates are constantly coming , somehow doing it , but not meizu , you lose your customers , I really like your product , but the attitude towards users - poor
I wanted to take a pro 5 , but now doubt

ultrametric, You are really thinking, that another manufacturers make updates for their phones just from zero? They also porting and adapt ROMs from new models to older ones (However they doing that more professionally, than Meizu). They port, and replace all drivers from newer phone with those, which are for older, otherwise firmware won't be able to run. Situation with the speed of making updates for Meizu Global versions of phones is really dissappointing. I'm using Flyme 5.1.4.0A on my Meizu MX4 International version, and it's working smooth, as a butter, and stable. So, I'm asking, WHY WE HAVE TO WAIT so long for Global Flyme 5 for our devices, when chinese firmware are rolled out already, and they are stable?

ultrametric, no, I'm not trying to defend Meizu. I have only mentioned, that porting ROMs from newer phones to older and adapting them isn't bad, if it's doing professionally. I agree with you, that Meizu have problems with software. And I have been very surprised, when the moderator in this topic asked, "Why you want to get the Marshmallow?". So after a year of using MX4 I noticed such things: In general, the oldest ROMs from Flyme 4.0.3 to Flyme 4.2.8.2 were more buggy and unsmooth, than Flyme 4.5.x and Flyme 5.x.x.x. This means, that older ROMs are not always better, than newer. Especially in MX4's case. However, there is another problem, that is in all Flyme ROMs. It seems, that developers of Flyme OS are not only just modifying Android, but completely changing everything in system, except the system's core files. Because of that Flyme 4.5.x with Android 5.0.1 have no pop-up notifications, no notifications on lock-screen, no material design in Flyme stock apps, no SmartLock function. Simply, Android 5.0.1 in KitKat 4.4.2 style. In case of Flyme 5 there is a "leap forward", because Flyme 5 is based on Android 5.1 stock apps. However, no SmartLock function again, no encryption options. Meizu developers should to do something with this, because I won't be surprised, if in next Flyme ROMs based on Android 6.0.1 will be no Doze mode, no Google Now On Tap and so on. And this funny bug with fingerprint sensor(I don't know, may be it was fixed in the latest Flyme 5 ROMs). In Android every activity of every app can be accessed via special programs. So the easiest decision to workaround that issue is to ask password every time, when user makes attempt to add a new fingerprint. Or to make the adding fingerprint activity not accessible via 3-rd party software (QuickShortcutMaker, Nova launcher shortcut's). So, Meizu moderators, please, read all of these messages. We are all writing them NOT because we don't like Flyme and Meizu (As for me, Flyme is very good-looking skin) , but because we are not impressed with the updates coming speed, especially for Global firmwares, and quality of Flyme ROMs, which CAN be better. Otherwise, when we will start choose a new phone, because current became old, we will think 100 times, if we should buy Meizu. For example, there was epic fail with MX4. Flyme 4.0.4.2I is the most buggiest ROM. Issues with widgets, GPU drivers (There were graphical glitches in many games) and other random bugs. And this was the latest firmware available for global MX4's in March 2015. And MX4 was released in Q4 2014. Chinese versions of MX4 in March 2015 had Flyme 4.2.2.2A, not Flyme 4.0.4.2A. And in Flyme 4.2.2.2A all of those critical bugs were fixed. But International users of MX4 were forced to wait for the end of March 2015, when the update Flyme 4.2.2.2I was rolled out. And yes, LG have already updated their G3 (2014) and HTC their One M8 to Android 6.0.1.
