In fact I love Meizu hardware but hate Meizu software, support and vision.
I feel sad to see a brand falling so hard and fast as this one because bad vision from decision makers. Its impressive the number of negative comments and opinions that are snowballing. Very sad for what could be a huge brand. | |

It seems that I am on the few in this thread that think Flyme is pretty cool and love to use it. You can see Meizu is putting a lot of resources into Flyme. On the other hand, if a purer Android version meant faster Android upgrades I would pick that above Flyme because the lack of Android upgrades is doing serious harm to Meizu's brand loyalty. What is saddening me a lot though is that I thought I will at least get one Android upgrade, from 5.1 to Android 6, but that is not happening. (as of speaking). I really thought here is a big company with an actual software team that will provide Android upgrades. Now I realize how wrong I was. I am reading severe dissatisfaction posts about this non existent Android upgrades all over the place. Lots of first time buyers of Meizu are extremely unhappy with the state of affairs. Meizu we are tech savvy, i.o.w we know about new versions of Android, its new features and security updates. We WANT Android upgrades. Just recently I wanted to buy a phone for my dad and skipped Meizu because the available phones are all on Android 5.1 with no upgrade in sight. Also Meizu, why don't you speak to us about this? Why not provide us with more transparency and time lines? Tell us if and when we will get Android upgrades. | |
