HELLO ALL ! ! !
People often ask whether should we delete data when updating the system.
so today I want to make it clear what we need to do.

First I will explain different flyme versions.

FLYME A:

We can identify whether it is Chinese by this A symbol.
this firmware is for people who live inside China And optimized for their needs.
In this firmware we can find 4 Languages:
Chinese Simplified, Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) and English (United States).


FLYME Y BASED ON YUNOS:

This is Chinese firmware like A but based on Alibaba's YunOS which is also designed for Chinese fans.


FLYME G ( GLOBAL) :

This firmware is for users all outside China except India.

global firmware doen't include Chinese apps at all and all languges are included.


FLYME INDIAN CALLES I:

This firmware is only for india fans just as A is only for Chinese fans.
The Flyme Account support is withdrawn from the Indian firmware because of rooting or other issues and changed bootscreen containing Taj Mahal but other than these firmware is same as the Global firmware.


FLYME BETA VERSION CHINESE /GLOBAL:


This firmware relese only for Beta team which selected by Meizu to test the firmware before stable one relese.
Users who update the beta firmware need to deliver their IMEI to the beta leader, and only those users can receive beta updates.

So the question is should I need to clear data before update the firmware??


The answer is Depend on which Flyme version you have and which one you want to update...


FROM CHINESE ONE  TO GLOBAL ONE OR GLOBAL TO CHINESE :


If i want to switch from Chinese firmware to global one or global to Chinese I have to clear data, all you need to do is to mark the clear data and press start..


IF I ONLY UPGRADE SYSTEM FROM SAME VERSION:


You don't need to clear data if you upgrade your firmware in same version like from Flyme 5.1.12.0 global to 5.1.12.1 global.
but keep in mind that if you downgrade your system please clear data to avoid bugs in future.


IF I WANT TO INSTALL INDIAN FIRMWARE BUT IM GLOBAL ONE WHAT TO DO ?


The answer is why you want to install Indian firmware?
The firmware is Adapted to the Indian fans and exept only few minor things its the same like your global firmware


IF I IN GLOBAL ONE OR INDIAN OR CHINESE ONE AND I GET BETA TEST FIRMWARE:

Yes please clear your data before you switch another system ...


ok that's all for today, please remember that you need to back up all importent things before clear data, and if you still upgrade and switch system without clear data and you feels some bugs you always can clear data so we need to go :
