Meizu M5 may launch in India with a sub Rs 7,000 price tag...

Chinese smartphone make Meizu might launch its budget smartphone the Meizu M5 in India soon. The phone was launched in China way back in October at a price of 700 CNY which roughly translates to Rs 7,000..

The phone had been a China exclusive after announcement but later made it other markets including Italy and Russia. But pricebaba confirms that its India announcement is soon to happen in the next few weeks.

Though the pricing of a smartphone it generally slightly higher than at what it sells in China, it is quite an old launch already and would make sense at a sub Rs 7,000 price tag. Moreover, its budget specs are very similar to the Meizu M3s that was launched at Rs 7,999 in November last year.

The M5 boasts of a polycarbonate body with a front mounted fingerprint reader (mTouch 2.1) which is claimed to unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds. The phone comes with a 5.2-inch 720p display and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor. The dual SIM phone runs Meizu's custom Flyme OS 5.5 and is backed by a 3,070mAh battery.

The phone has been launched in two variants: 2GB RAM/16GB memory and 3GB RAM/32GB memory with both versions supporting expandable storage. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. On the front you get a 5-megapixel camera.

The Meizu M5 might become available for buying in all five colors options it was initially introduced: Matte Black, Mint Green, Blue, Champagne Gold and White.

Meizu launched a bunch of smartphones in China last year, including a few high end devices with mid range pricing, like the Pro 6S and the M5 Note and the Meizu band. But none of them made it to the Indian market.
