Dussehra is a Hindu festival celebrated by Hindus all over the world celebrating the triumph of Good over evil. It is also called as Vijaya Dashami and is an official holiday in India. The celebration depicts the victory of Hindu God Rama over the Demon king Ravana and hence on this day people burn effigies of Ravana in bonfires in the evening. Some people also offer prayers and food to the Gods in temple or at their home.

Dussehra is one of the biggest festivals in India and Nepal and considered auspicious to many. People buy new stuff on this day. Also, some believe that this is a very lucky day to start any new venture or a business. Some people give up any bad habits that they had and begin a new life. Dussehra is celebrated through different traditions across the world.
