Smartphone addiction seems to be a real issue that's starting to affect a lot of users. But don't worry, we are here to help. In our smartphone addiction 101 guide, we'll be giving out some anti-addiction and anti-distraction tips. Let's start off by seeing how quantifying your smartphone usage will help you curb excessive smartphone usage.

A lot of manufacturers and even app developers have started building apps and services to give you an accurate picture of how you're using your phone. Android Pie's Dashboard, for instance, is one of the best ways to monitor your usage. With Dashboard, you can do things like set app-timers, use Shush feature to put your phone to sleep, use Wind Down to get ready for bed, etc.

Even iOS 12 offers something called Screen Time, which is similar to Android Pie's Dashboard. In case you don't want to rely on OS-specific features like these, then you can even download third-party apps like Moment (iOS only), or a particular app's timer feature to track your phone usage. Regardless of the route you take, it is worth noting that quantifying your usage will help you get a better idea of how much of your precious time you spend glued to your phone.
