Forget the days when we had 4GB-8GB Internal storage. Today most of the phones comes with atleast 16GB Internal Storage. Now store a lot of movies, songs, games, apps and anything! But sometimes, its not a good deal. Sometimes we are limited to just Internal Storage. That means we don't get expandibility. We have to suffer with the same limited internal storage by uninstalling apps, deleting photos, videos, etc. everytime. But on the other hand, if we have expandable storage then we can expand the limited storage and store more!

Let's talk about the Pros and Cons of Internal and External Memory:

Pros of more Internal Memory:

• Internal memory is much faster and better than external memory.
• Offers more stablility and is more convinient.
• More reliable
• It can store anything (Photos, Videos, Apps, App Data, etc.)
  

Cons of Internal Memory:

• Limited Storage
  

Pros of External Memory:

• Expand your Internal Storage
  

Cons of External Memory:

• Not that faster and reliable than Internal Memory.
• It just stores data like photos, videos, music and data transferred by you. (Cannot store entire apps, games etc.)
• Not that stable as External Storage (SD Cards) can be easily affected by viruses and then ultimately affects system performance. Also, if an app is installed and you frequently remove the SD Card, then it may make the system unstable.
• Internal Memory's speed and External Memory's speed are different, that can also show some effects in performance.
  

 

So, you may think that you can buy a phone with 32GB internal memory and adding a SD card of 32GB will be same as buying a 64GB phone. You're wrong.

A phone with 64GB Internal memory will be better in performance as compared to a phone with 32GB internal + 32GB external memory.

If you need external memory support for just storing up more photos and videos then better use an OTG flash drive. Phones with more Internal storage are the best choice.

Less internal memory with no expandability is always a disaster. More internal memory with expandibility is great and more internal memory without expandibility is awesome!
