Meizu Pro 5 HDD and RAM chiphi guys
i have meizu pro 5 china verison. in this 6 month have a low speed and have very hanging ! i do hard reset , chenge rom and etc but unresolved . 1-i think i need to change HDD or RAM chip but i don't know HDD and RAM are one chip in this phone or apart? 2-and i don't know HDD RAM chip part nember 3-and i have one other [color=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.87)]question , my phone is 3ram+32hdd , can i replace with 4+64 ? please help me dears my phone detials : model : pro 5 rom : Flyme 8.0.0.0A android baseband version : s333_M86_20171221_CHNOPEN_MZt04 | |

Hi,
Yes you can replease your 3+32G mainboard to 4+64G. But nowdays 64G is also not suffient. I have one 4+64G but still I run out of the flash memory, even I had a additional 64G card. I have once an idea to replace the 64G UFS to some larger ones, e.g 128G and 256G. The UFS chip is from Samsung, it is BGA095 package, I have searched some info that this chip has seldom info about 128G version(I even doubt that whether it exists). S6 has a 128G version, but in China I can not got such old 128G S6 edge mainboard, while S6 is very similar with Pro5, same 7420 processor. Another idea is to use latest UFS2.0 chips with other package, such BGA156, there are a lot of them with size 128 and 256, but this need a adaptor PCB, from BGA156 to BGA095, this need pinout info for both of them. Another notes is that the BGA095 is soldered stack on top of the BB chip, Shannon333 chip, soldering maybe a problem. | |

In China there are service that offered by third-part to upgrade some old Meizu mainboard flash chip, e.g. MX4pro to 64G and 128G, but all they support are all the eMMC based models, not the latest UFS ones.
And also there are some third part guys can upgrade Xiaomi 5 and XIaomi 6's RAM chip (all Qualcom based), to 6G, I asked them whether they can do similar upgrade for Meizu Pro5 and they say no. I think if one can find a proper RAM chip that fit for Samsung 7420 SOC, then it may also be possible. | |
