According to the GIF image... The lens would make the light to travel more in distance rather than improved dispersion... Which results in round illumination of light on the subject... But in smartphone we need both long range and dispersed light... I think this won't be useful in many cases..

Can be good as a Torch light in case of emergencies... Wouldn't be too great for photography though...
