Samsung introduced flash chips with 256 GB capacity and SSD speeds intended for smartphones

One of the major flaws in newer smartphones, especially those who do not have a slot for micro SD card, is the lack of space for storage. The problem only deepen the possibilities of recording 4K video, which takes lots and lots of space. Samsung has a solution for that - a super large flash chip with 256 GB capacity.

The new flash chip is made by Universal Flash Storage 2.0 standard though it has the possibility of higher capacity than previous such chips has much higher speeds of reading and typing. In fact, the speed of loading, one that is important to quickly launch applications, is 850 MB / s, which is faster than standard SSD-and that connect via SATA interface (not the new PCI-e SSD drives). The speed of typing, it is lower - 250 MB / s, but it is more than enough for entry of 4K video directly on the chip.

According to Samsung, the new flash chip will allow users careless record 4K videos on their smartphones - many have not even dared to do that due to the small capacity of the chips. Also, thanks to the high speed of downloading files, the transfer via USB 3.0 connection to the computer will be much faster than is the case with current smartphones.

More space for data storage in smartphones over the next few years will become even more necessary - the virtual videos again larger than 4K videos, and  It applies also for the for games.

Production of the new Samsung flash chip with a capacity of 256 GB is already started, so expect soon to appear in smartphones and tablets of the upper classes, such as Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone 6S or iPad Pro and other known models of smartphones.

We hope that MEIZU will set in one of the new models, this flash chips with 256 GB capacity.
