... since it apparently has the exact same hardware as the normal Pro 5 they better give us a way to switch between Flyme and Ubuntu to both Pro 5/Ubuntu edition else I'd seriously feel cheated. So yeah it's always nice to see new things (especially on such a high end device) but it being exclusive to that edition wouldn't make any sort of sense, why should we buy the same phone just to try out another os?

Onohara replied at 2016-02-23 03:43 Your point is justified that there might be no difference in hardware and you should be able to switch between the two. THe thing is that PRO 5 is a high end device and if they give you Dual - booting option or choice to flash your favorite one, that is, Ubuntu or FlymeOS, but this is not possible because their partners will not allow it and may fall in legal soup because say if you buy Ubuntu edition thinking it is cheaper than the Android one and then flash Flyme on it then there will be a huge loss of Meizu as well as Ubuntu. So, officially it is not possible but I am sure people will figure out ways to switch between them in future.

Arunabh replied at 2016-02-23 00:58 First of all, this is a Global release. They have not lauched it specifically for China or other country. And one more thing is that it is not suitable for Indians because it is running Ubuntu which no one would prefer at this stage (other than geeks and Ubuntu fans). Common people would not buy it because they know it is not Android and cannot love their belowed WhatsApp.
