Google Launches Free Wifi At 100 Railway Stations In India

Google's plan to connect Indians with internet is on a roll these days . As we know , there are hardly any wifi zones at public places and as India is the fastest growing economy in the world Google has finally announced providing Wifi at 100 Major Railway stations in India . Which is a big move by Google India .




Google is aiming to connect atleast 400 Railway stations in India by Wifi , and Google India is now a step closer to fulfill its Aim .

Google is working with state-run ISP RailTel to bring internet connectivity to people. RailTel has optic fibre cable that runs alongside railway tracks covering almost 70 percent of the country.

This is described as the "Largest public wifi project in the World"

Over 10 million Indians now have an access to fast Internet. Google says, with over 5 million monthly users, the Google Railtel Wi-Fi has over 15,000 first time users connecting to the network every day.




"We’re really excited about reaching this milestone and it is an incredible feeling to look back and see how far we’ve come since weannounced that we were partnering with Indian Railways and RailTel to provide Wi-Fi at 400 railway stations throughout the country," Gulzar Azad, Country Head - Connectivity, Google India said in a press statement.
