MediaTek Helio X30 SoC announced, will be built on TSMC’s 10nm process

MediaTek today formally announced the successor to the Helio X20, the new Helio X30. Like its predecessor, the Helio X30 is also a deca-core SoC with a tri-cluster configuration.

The next-gen mobile SoC from MediaTek will include four ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz, four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz, and two ARM Cortex A35 cores clocked at 2 GHz. Graphics will be handled by the PowerVR 7XT quad-core GPU. It will support up to 8GB of LPDDR4 memory, UFS 2.1 memory chips, up to two 26MP cameras at the back, and faster LTE speeds thanks to an LTE Cat.12 model with carrier aggregation.

The MediaTek Helio X30 is going to be fabbed on a 10nm FinFET process by TSMC, so it don’t expect it to show up in any device this year.
