AhmedQadri replied at 2018-07-12 05:13 Yes. ..and so are their flagship devices (15 series). Which means that devices running already Nougat won't probably see an Oreo update - at least within a reasonable time. But, that has always been the case with Chinese manufacturers - even Xiaomi did the same for a long time until they expanded globally (in the professional way of course) and started offering latest Android OS versions - even an Android One device! Chinese manufacturers think that if they offer features in their heavily customized ROM, Android OS version won't matter. Like Double Window (Multi Window) that was introduced in Nougat but either Meizu or Xiaomi offered that in their ROM (can't remember which one). So, on that basis, they thought that a Nougat upgrade wasn't necessary because users where already experiencing latest features. But of course, nobody (meaning Xiaomi and Meizu teams) said anything about all the changes under the hood that a newer Android OS brings like better RAM management, battery management etc. I mean, if a device runs Marshmallow and upgrades to Nougat, it becomes a whole new device because in Nougat, hardware management has been greatly improved. Something that a customized ROM offers by killing background processes or restricting their wakelocks. That's a halfway measure of course. | |
