Open letter to Meizu/FlymeDear Meizu/Flyme, I want to share with you my disappointment, whichI think is similar for many of your customers: in December 2015 I pre-orderedyour Pro 5, considering it a great smartphone, from aesthetic and performancepoints of view, at a fair price considering the smartphone features (€ 519).The software version on board, however, was not up to it (Flyme 4.5.4.2 withAndroid 5.1) but with the promise that the Flyme 5 (announced in September 2015but still based on Android 5.1) would come soon. I was also lucky enough to enter immediately inthe Global Beta Test Group to be one of the first to receive the new Flymeversion and to help developers fix some bugs and improve translations too. Well, after about 15 months from having boughtit, I have a smartphone that after two months of testing, has received a publicbeta of Flyme 6 (STILL based on Android 5.1) and, as it was understood, alsoabandoned with regard of Beta testing. The semi-official explanation for the movenever happened to Android 6 was that "the functions of Android 6 werealready present on Flyme 5", while it was speculated a jump to Android 7that there has not been and probably there will never be. If the smartphone is still appreciated from anaesthetic point of view, as well as from the hardware point of view, it hasaccumulated a significant delay from the hardware point of view and if I wantto sell it, it would enough affect on the price, as the version software is thebasis of the operating system, not relying on the latest available API, becauseyou cannot carry all of the features on an older operating system. Also this as all other smartphone Meizu are nolonger certified by Google, or have never had: this is a big deal for thenot-Asian market. So I ask you to be clear, once and for all andas you have never been, in order to give us customers the opportunity to beable to run for cover before our smartphones become completely unsupported.

Seriously disappointed in the support for global customers. Unlikely to buy another Meizu. Such a shame and such a stupid, stupid business move.

Hi bro..
two years ago I bought mx4pro, it's real good device with best sound and screen, but in it barrel of honey meizu put big spoon of tar - bad communication module - lte + gsm is not love.. I saw in the meizu community - firmware update оccured very seldom, but I didn't think what it will be so bad. And what we see now - all meizu smarts, firmwares and its quality seem like brothers - its not interesting. Once upon a time I making plans for new mxXpro, but now I don't wont buy new model, because with the release new pro smart the firmwares for my phone make sound worse and worse. And so we see new phones and its all - nothing better in it I dont see - it simple new phone. It's a pity, but the rising meizu star began to fall and so it went up. The China is such a small country, where all the people, why no one to do the firmware, maybe in the China zombie apakalipsis started, and we do not know ?!

I totally agree.
It's time to reveal your intentions to who gave you confidence.

Dear Meizu,
I agree with people in this thread. I have an MX5, I find it a good phone with good hardware. But still android 5.1. You have created new flyme 6 but it's only an upgraded UI from flyme 5. Not new firmware. Give a look to your competitors. I expected much more from flyme 6. At least android 6. I hope in a new firmware in a short time. Thanks.

We are in good company!
We have a device with no support outside of China, old security patch and android 5.1 when Android 8 will be out in a couple of months. We were told the Global Team experience will be closed an no more closed beta will be released (and we don't have an official statement but just an indirect message in Whattsapp Group). We don't have a single information on how Meizu would solve the big issue regarding Google certification as we don't live in China. If Meizu think this behavour would push to update to a new Meizu model, I think they missed the point. Sorry but I don't trust Meizu anymore. A disappointed Pro 5 user and beta tester

My support! I can't understand why is it too hard to Meizu doing things right....

I agree with you, I too would like clarity from Meizu, for both the Android version and for both Google services.
We fans of Meizu we would like to buy a new phone, but with these uncertainties, we will go elsewhere. I have a MX4 and in the future I would like to change it, but I'm waiting to see your intentions. If you will not give official explanation, you will lose a large part of the basic fan of Meizu. It is a shame to lose it all!
