[Question of the week] What's your opinion on our Flyme update process?

SignatureFlyme, go global! |

In the refence page i cant see any version lower than 4.5.X thus I will really appreciate a direct link for that model as language can not be selected in page.
Furthermore is there a possibility to use any other Chineese version for upgrade?

niyeki replied at 2016-03-11 18:27 you can still download firmware from our chinese site, http://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-8.html, but as you can see, 4.2.0.5U is the latest version for this model.

niyeki replied at 2016-03-11 08:02 hi, according to your firmware version, U means china Unicom, that means your phone is specially for the operator China Unicom; and more over, all the Meizu mobiles from china can't be flashed to International firmware.

I have a problem with update and will be gratefull if you can help me about it.
I have flyme 4.2.0.5U in my phone (International version...I guess) I am tring to update it with the FW 4.5.7I which I downloaded from the official site (http://www.flymeos.com/firmwarelist?modelId=6&type=1). I copy the zip file to root and choose it and update starts but after update check I get a system message stating "firmware is corrupted" . Downloaded same file 3 times, extract it to verify it is not corrupted during download, nothing seem wrong but still the same message. I need to do the update manually as I am not getting any update notifications (well got a message for 4.2.05U but non afterwards). The reason may be Flyme messaging is set as not open. But I cant enable it and get a message telling sim card does not support the service. So anyone can tell me what am I doing wrong.

Its easy to update.. But OTA Updates are very much needed..

Its really easy

Got to be one of the best stock way to update and downgrade. Though, I'd add a backup/restore function to the recovery akin to the one in twrp to quickly rollback in case we need it without having to setup everything again.
