After launching the m1 note and m2 note, Meizu has introduced its flagship, the MX5, in India. The phone will be available exclusively via retailer Snapdeal, with the 16GB variant initially up for purchase for ₹19,999 ($312). The Chinese vendor has mentioned that 32 and 64GB models will be available at a later date.

The MX5 features a metal body, sporting a physical home button at the front which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The 5.5-inch [size=100%]fullHD Super AMOLED display is touted to offer 100 percent NTSC color gamut, and offers Gorilla Glass 3 protection against scratches. Powering the device is MediaTek's octa-core Helio X10 SoC, PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Other specs include a 20.7MP camera (Sony IMX220 sensor) with 4K video recording, 5MP front shooter, dual-SIM functionality, LTE, Wi-Fi ac and 3,150mAh battery, with the battery able to charge to up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes using Meizu's mCharge technology. In terms of software, the MX5 is running Flyme 4.5 atop Android 5.0 Lollipop.

After-sales service continues to be a major factor for consumers when purchasing a handset from a relatively unknown brand, and Meizu has mentioned that it has over 40 service centers across 20 cities in the country.
