Hello!
I bought Meizu M6 for use as primary in mobile hotspot mode. Firmware was upgraded to Flyme 7.1.0.0G. I meet some problem.
Problem: In 2.4 GHz band the phone makes WiFi-net on 13th channel as default, and use another channels only if 13-th channel is busy. In 5 GHz band the phone use different channels as default, but only from higher channel numbers (153-165). I was supposed to use the phone as a WiFi modem for multiple devices. But one of my devices supports channels 36-165 in 5 GHz band, but only 1-11 in 2.4 GHz band. Another device supports 1-13 channels in 2.4 GHz, but only 36-140 in 5 GHz. So I can connect to one device only in 5 GHz mode, and to another only in 2.4. Connect to both onetime is impossible.
Reason: no methods to select the channel of shared WiFi net in the menu of smartphone.
Possible solution: Ideally, in further version of firmware should be added three points in menu:
1) Default channel of WiFi-tethering (in each band).
2) List of prohibited channels (in each band).
3) List of preferred channels (in each band) - this channels should be used as priority, if the default channel is busy. Another channels (excludes prohibited from point 2) should be used only if all preferred channels are busy.
Points 1 and 2 is absolutely necessary, point 3 is desirable.
The presence of such points in the menu will allow the user to connect the smartphone with all its devices, even if each of these devices supports a different list of WiFi-channels.
