The thread is very promising. I'll give it a go though I did not understand most of the important steps.

Goodness this will be a gamble and risky.

If there's anyone who knows a better instruction version, please post a link.

I need help - It did not bring the expected outcome. I'm using build 6.7.8.8G and successfully upgraded it to 6.7.9.26G by following the instructions.

So here's how I followed the post:

Thanks to the OP by the way...

- Downloaded the .zip Build 6.7.9.26G; link provided by the OP as Google drive.
- Extracted the zip
- Install the AdbDriverInstaller and the UniversalAdbDriverSetup6 which can be found inside the drivers folder.
- I run the flash_tool found inside the flashtool folder

Here's where everyone is confused; the pit and scatter. The scatter file is this: MT6755_Android_scatter - Found under the extracted zip
And probably, the pit is the DA_PL.bin, which can be found when you click the Download Agent button.

- Turned off the phone (Meizu M5 Note) and plug the USB cable (USB Debugging is ON under the developers options).
- Press Download at the upper part of the tool. Waited... and it proceeded after several minutes. Here, you cannot do anything with the phone, not even to try turning it ON.

- The process is done successfully.
- Booted the Phone, and it configured for awhile. Checked, and it showed the build as expected: 6.7.9.26G

ROOTING:

Downloaded Kingroot and it failed 71%
Downloaded Kingoroot and it failed 90%

I did not found the Root permission under the Fingerprint and Security Settings.

So in other words, I cant root.. Did I missed anything?
Did I get the correct Download Agent?

Please HELP. |

Kind regards.

EDITED FOR UPDATE:

*****************************************   I THINK I GOT IT   **********************

I simply registered the phone on Meizu account - and the root permission showed.
The device is now successsfully ROOTED.

Developement! Here I come!!!

Another thanks to the OP.
