I believe Meizu should take this suggestion/observation seriously. I'm employed in financial sector, with many years of experience in risk assessment and risk management. And I've been with Meizu for several years.
So the observation is: Meizu's biggest problem is their obssession with Flyme. It's quite clear and easily provable. It's literally dragging them down in the swamp of many phone manufacturers.
If Meizu decided to adopt pure Android, and release devices running Android One, their fantastic hardware quality would make a perfect combination that would set them on the path of progress.
I remember the time when Meizu was the second most recognized phone brand/manufacturer in China, and making bold steps abroad. This time is gone now, they're providing less and less software support, their customer support is almost non-existing, their focus seems to be on China (which is a losing battle considering where all the other China-based players are heading), and the worst part is they don't want to admit it.
So, in short, remove Flyme, adopt Android One, invest money in marketing, and soon Meizu will be a respectable player again. Without this, they have nothing to hope for.

The real issue is this: Meizu wants to sell (G)lobal phones but doesn't want to or it doesn't have the resources to support it in the same way as their (A)sian counterparts. This is a fraud and lie to Global users because they don't get the same final product/software experience/support as their Asian counterparts. Either stops selling as "Global" phones or starts fully supporting Global phones. We need Meizu to give Global users support as good and on par as Asian support. We need a Global update plans as good as their Asian update plans, look here:

If Meizu didn't  have to work so much developing a very different version of Android all the time, they would have the resources to focus on Global customers.
Android One is a version of Android that is rather simple to implement and maintain, simply because Google provides all the software.
Personally I like Flyme, but I like Meizu's hardware better, so I find it sad that they dedicate so many resources to Flyme, and in the end lots of users, mainly Global users, are unhappy and dissatisfied.
What I'm saying, from a risk assessment and management point of view, is that Meizu are losing a lot by focusing on Flyme instead of focusing on Global users via Android One. Just look at the other China-based players and their direction. Almost all of them are becoming more and more globally oriented.
Just imagine Meizu's fantastic hardware (in terms of phone design, looks, inner components, etc) combined with Android One (providing Android version upgrades for 2 years) - that would make a lot of global users very happy and willing to pay good money.
Well, the Meizu 16s is, in my opinion, the best-looking phone in the world. But then you realise that it's stuck on Android 9 (with Android 10 coming soon), with almost no other software support (no security patches, rare bug fixes), very weak customer support. And that's enough for many users to decide not to buy the phone.
In any case, I hope Meizu realises how important Global users are for their growth, and hopefully they'll do something about it.
