Meizu Smart home kit expected to launch next monthMeizu has come a very long way from being an initial maufacturer of mp3 players. In the past couple of years we have seen some of the most brilliantly designed smartphones from Meizu with amazing quality at an unbelievable price. Recently, Meizu has been shocking everyone by launching some cool new accessories too including the EP51 bluetooth earphones, the Meizu Gravity speaker with wireless floating display, the OTG U-disk etc. Just a few days back along with the Meizu M3S, we also saw Meizu launch its first high speed wireless router. This wireless router sports a dual antenna design and supports 802.11ac wireless protocol with a transmission speed 3 times that of other routers. Now, the latest news is that Meizu plans to launch a bunch of Smart home accessories. The smart home network is connected by bluetooth and includes a number of accessories like a Smart light bulb, universal remote control, Smart socket, Intelligent TV stick etc. It is expected to be named as M+ Smart Bluetooth networking system and expected to launch next month. How do you feel about this move by Meizu to manufacture products other than just smartphones. Do you want to see the Meizu Smart home kit launch in your country. Share your views.

Honestly? No, I'd rather trust reliable brands for that kind of things, and even then I find the concept of a home kit totally useless. Having everything rely on a smartphone just doesn't make any sense to me, and I hope that trend is going to die soon.
On the other hand your thread is nicely done, so +1 on your thread and -1 on the home kit :D

I have the XIAOMI SMART HOME KIT since it got out.
It worked great from the beginning, all alarms are effective and all sensors work flawlessly. And not to forget that the basic package costed 40$. Meizu lost the train for this one. Difficult to get something better and cheaper. It's not a trend and Smart Home is a concept that goes strong year after year. Except if you are 60+ years old or you don't know how to use a smart phone, would find this useless.

I honestly don't care if something is popular, it still is useless and stupid IMO (that's the keyword here) to rely on your smartphone for everything despite having no trouble at all with anything related to these.
Why rely on something that is prone to fail sooner than later when old non connected stuffs are still working perfectly, and with the same results? If the answer is b-b-ut it's convenient then it's nothing more than laziness to me, when you're at home you usually have the extra seconds needed to spare for whatever you wanted to do.
