Meizu has introduced their newest flagship handset last month, the Meizu PRO 6. This smartphone is a direct successor to the Meizu PRO 5 phablet which has been introduced back in September last year, and it is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X25 64-bit deca-core processor. This SoC is quite powerful, but many consumers have been wondering whether the company plans to introduce an Exynos-powered PRO 6 variant. The Exynos 8890-powered Meizu PRO 6 surfaced the other day in China, and now we have some additional news.

Several rumors surfaced in the last couple of weeks claiming that Meizu is planning to release a smartphone with a curved display, similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Vivo XPlay 5. Well, according to a new rumor, the Exynos 8890-powered Meizu PRO 6 model will sport such a display. This information comes from ‘Mocha RQ’, a China-based industry insider. The source has also shared the expected price for this smartphone, he said that the phone might cost around 3,000 Yuan ($460), which means it will be somewhat more expensive than the regular Meizu PRO 6 variant.

What about its specs? Well, that info hasn’t been shared, but we do expect this device to be almost identical to the regular PRO 6 in terms of specs, aside from its processor, of course. It is, however, possible that Meizu opts to use a larger display in this device, and essentially release a phablet device, but we’re only guessing at this point. Either way, the Exynos 8890-powered Meizu PRO 6 is expected to ship with 4GB of RAM, 21-megapixel camera on the back, a fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, and a full metal unibody build. So, when can we expect this device to launch? Well, the release date hasn’t been mentioned just yet, so we can only guess at this point.
