try to clear the data of maps. sometimes i'm facing this problem too.

Hey, if possible, try updating the app, clear app cache and data and also try giving all the required permissions to Google maps. Also agive all the permissions to Google Play Services as sometimes it may prompt you to allow an app to use location services but the phone won't show it as the necessary permissions are not given to play Services.
