you must read my reviews if you are planning to install custom roms
there is nothing like wow in lineage or resurrection. I had used all custom ROM for my m2 note even miui 8 by romul.
Lineage 14.1 based on android 7.1.1 and latest lineage update for android 7.1.2.
Resurrection remix by khubbidotv(or whatever name I forgot spelling) based on lollipop.

From all these most stable is lineage by moyster which you can find on XDA.
But I like most is my flyme.

Problem with miui 8 is that it's not stable whenever you change themes you're mobile is
Restarted. But it's smooth like flyme. Charging via USB or computer is very slow. But battery
Optimisation very good in miui.

In lineage battery optimization is not that great. Charging via USB is slowest. Interface is good and
Latest android nougat is comes with so you can use Google assistant and many unique feature only
Available for nougat. But charging issue is a irritation. RAM management is also good but sometimes Facebook
Crash. Mobile is heated as compared to flyme so battery drain more in it.

Third is RR based on lollipop. This is amateur custom ROM with many bug so I suggest you to not
Flash it .

I m currently using lineage 14.1 based on 7.1.2 but  planned to go back to my flyme which I backed up
In SD card. Because flyme is rather running on lollipop but it's made for it and running very well

Also you cannot use slow motion and time lapse video recording in custom ROMs.
And if you're a heavy user charging is most important feature to you and it's best in flyme whether it's
Via stock charger or charging via laptop or PC.
